Our Story

Hi, I'm Anthony.
Founder of Diamond Glove Revival
More Than Just a Glove
My passion for baseball gloves didn't start with Diamond Glove Revival. It started when I was a kid.
I grew up playing baseball, and even back then I was fascinated by gloves. I was always maintaining, reshaping, relacing, and customizing my own gloves—and before long, I was doing the same thing for friends and teammates. I loved figuring out how a glove worked, how it could be shaped differently, and how a few changes could completely change the way it looked and felt.
The glove was always one of my favorite parts of the game.
Years later, becoming a baseball dad brought that passion right back. I found myself around the game again—practices, games, training sessions, new gloves, old gloves, and the inevitable "Dad, can you fix this?"
Only this time, I took that childhood obsession much further.
I started diving deeper into glove construction, leather, lacing patterns, pocket formation, finger placement, traditional and Japanese break-in techniques, restoration, conditioning, dye work, web swaps, and the differences between how gloves should be shaped for different positions and players.
That lifelong passion eventually became Diamond Glove Revival.
Why Trust DGR With Your Glove?
Because I understand that it's not just a glove.
It might be your kid's first serious glove. The gamer you've trusted for years. The glove you saved up to buy. Something passed down from a parent. Or maybe it's a beat-up glove that's been with you through hundreds of innings and just needs someone willing to give it another life.
Whatever the story is, I treat every glove that comes through DGR like it matters.
And I don't believe in one-size-fits-all glove work.
Before working on a glove, I consider how it's built, the condition of the leather and laces, the position it's designed for, and most importantly, how the player wants it to perform.
A catcher's mitt shouldn't be shaped like an infielder's glove. A first baseman needs something completely different from an outfielder. Even two players using the exact same model may prefer completely different pockets, hinges, finger placement, and overall feel.
The goal isn't to make every glove look the same. The goal is to make your glove play the way you want it to.
The DGR Difference
I'm still just as fascinated by gloves today as I was when I was working on them as a kid.
I'm constantly learning, experimenting, building new tools, studying different glove makers and craftsmen, and refining the way I work. I'm especially interested in techniques from both American and Japanese glove culture and understanding why a particular process works rather than simply following it because that's how it's always been done.
That same curiosity applies to every glove on my bench.
I'll also always be straightforward about what your glove actually needs. If something doesn't need to be replaced, I won't replace it. If I believe a service could hurt the glove or isn't worth doing, I'll tell you. And if there's a better option, we'll talk about it.
DGR isn't about doing the most work possible to your glove.
It's about doing the right work.
Whether you're sending in a brand-new glove for a professional break-in, customizing a glove to make it your own, or bringing back a gamer that's been through years of dirt, sweat, practices, and games, the mission is the same:
Respect the glove. Preserve its character. Improve its performance. Get it back on the field.
That's Diamond Glove Revival.
